In regards to the newly released The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection through Origin (as of July 17, 2014), these same issues prevail. Some issues listed below have been fixed or patched by community modders throughout the years to help prevent accidental corruption. This list below may be incomplete.
Sims 2 A while ago when sims 2 ultimate collection was still available it was so buggy and didn’t work well on my computer but I still wanted to get back into the sims 2 because thats my legit childhood so I decided to try an download it from oldgamesdownload.com and was shocked by how fast and smooth it ran.

To anyone else who wants to reset Sims 2 (disk version, Sims 2 Ultimate Collection) to a vanilla state (which means no saved games, CC or Mods present), here are instructions on how to do so. First locate your Sims 2 folder which is found Documents > EA Games > Sims 2. For some of you, you will see two folders.

Really cool EA is doing this, though I wish they would provide a Mac version, too. I'm probably going to reinstall windows just to get origin to work
No way to integrate it into your own account. I went and chatted to somebody in customer service. If you have 1 disc/case from the Sims 2 and send them a picture of it, they will give you the ultimate collection on your Origin account. I dont know if this is still a thing or not however.

I have a Physical copy of the sims 2 (but no optical drive) and I wanted to get the sims 2 ultimate collection for free. I know the promotions have ended, but I have the actual game case, discs, and the product code. I've contacted EA support but just about everyone says they don't have any more codes and the game is discontinued.
I'm having a little trouble getting my copy of Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on Origin working with my windows 10 pc. I was wondering if anyone here could help. The problem I have is the game crashes after choosing a community/town.
